PRINT BROCHURE

Trek Conducts Field Audits & Reporting for Suspended Well Requirements, under ERCB Directive 013.

What are the requirements?

Directive 013 sets out the requirements for suspension of inactive wells. Inactive Wells are classified as follows:

  • Inactive critical sour and inactive acid gas wells; wells that have not reported any type of volumetric activity (production, injection, or disposal) for 6 consecutive months are classified as inactive.

  • All other inactive wells; wells that have not reported any type of volumetric activity (production, injection, or disposal) for 12 consecutive months are classified as inactive.

  • How TREK can help ensure your compliance:

  • Conduct a site inspection of each well on client supplied list of inactive sites

  • Collect shut in Casing and Tubing Pressures

  • Collect CO2 readings from gas stream on sweet gas wells

  • Collect H2S readings from gas streams on sour gas wells

  • Conduct Surface Casing vent flow check (using flow meter to provide actual flow rate in M3/day)

  • Provide a list of surface production equipment on site (including serial numbers)

  • Provide a general assessment of site “Housekeeping”

  • Provide a description of site identification signage, safety signage and/or deficiencies

  • Provide a “Deficiency List” for fencing (both barbed wire and steel panel), surface casing vent flows, lack of surface casing vents, wells still tied into production equipment, sites with underground storage tanks. Housekeeping concerns, lack of site ID signage, abandoned sites, and any sites that are still producing

  • OILFIELD WASTE TRACKING

    PRINT BROCHURE

Trek designs and maintains "Oilfield Waste Tracking" Databases, for clientele, to simplify the "Annual Oilfield Waste Disposition Reporting" process required under ERCB Directive 058 & ERCB Directive 030.

The ERCB requires generators (licensee/approval holders) of oilfield waste, to track all oilfield wastes from the initial point of generation through to the point of final disposition (cradle to grave). All dangerous oilfield wastes (DOW) and those reportable oilfield wastes listed in Directive 058: Oilfield Waste Management Requirements for the Upstream Petroleum Industry, Table 9.1, Reportable Oilfield Wastes, must be included in the annual oilfield waste disposition report.

At any time of the year, licensee/approval holders may be selected, by the ERCB, to submit the Annual Oilfield Waste Disposition Report (or a portion thereof) on the DDS.

Oilfield Waste and Disposal or Treatment Details being tracked must include the following:

  • Licence Type: well, facility, pipeline
  • Licence Number
  • Waste Code
  • Waste Volume Adjustment
  • Waste Volume Units
  • Disposal or Treatment Method
  • Disposal or Treatment Volume Total
