Health & Safety Management:
Health & Safety:
Some of the most recent accidents in the Energy and Chemical Industries has aroused public opinion to the point where new regulations have been developed.
A Safety Management Program (SMP) is based on the principal that all hazards must be understood and controlled. A program of this nature is only successful when combined with the following guidelines:
1. Systematic identification of the hazards
2. Significance of the hazards
3. Implementation of Controls
4. Emergency Planning
5. Solid commitment from Management and Staff to adhere to the program implemented
Hazard Management is applicable to any aspect of Exploration, Production and Restoration Operations. It provides a framework for the management of safety not only to control hazards, which could lead to a major catastrophe, but also those that relate to workplace accidents. It is with this in mind that Trek is committed to participate, in any way it can, in the development and implementation of current and future industry safety programs.
The Trek Management team has committed to obtaining the Health & Safety Certificate of recognition (SECOR) in 2007.
